The second Executive Board and Group Meeting under the Portuguese Chairmanship of Eureka took place in Algarve on the 21st and 22nd of September 2021 and counted with the in-person participation of several Eureka member countries.
The first day meeting was on the 21st September and started with a warm welcome by the chair of the Portuguese Chairmanship, Miguel Bello Mora and throughout the meeting there was the opportunity to discuss several key topics, including Eurostars-3. During the Executive Group meeting the Working groups with the Balkans and Africa were addressed, as well as GlobalStars and the Eureka Clusters ending on the topic of future chairmanships. To wrap-up the first intense day of discussions, a visit to SPAROS, a science-based and technology company that develops products and solutions for the aquaculture market, and one of the beneficiaries of the Eurostars programme, took place.
The second day of the EB / EG meeting was dedicated to cover topics such as the Risk and Audit Committee and Risk Management, as well as relevant themes of the Eureka Secretariat management activities, presented by the recently appointed new Head of Secretariat, Brit Helle.
The Portuguese Chairmanship of Eureka wishes to continuously contribute to the success of Eureka as a major tool to promote research and innovation close to market, promoting the dynamism of the economy, as well as encouraging the involvement of the network in international initiatives that shall stimulate new opportunities for the development of new products and services enhancing policy priorities such as Space-Ocean related technologies, Earth Observation systems, CO2 neutrality, Sustainability & Circular Economy, AI & Digital readiness in global markets, as well as new international collaborations towards citizens well-being and healthy living.
